An Evaluation of the administration of prisons service in Nigeria: A case study of medium security prison



                                        PROPOSAL
 This beautiful project is centered on An evaluation  of the Administration of  prisons  service in Nigerian ( A case study of medium  security prison, Oko, Benin City.
        This investigation (study) was conducted amongst 200 staff, 100 prison and 15 ex-convict of medium security, Oko.
        The objectives of the study was to carefully evaluate the Administration of prison systems as:
To determine the type of prison administration in  medium security, Oko, Benin City.
To determine the degree of effectiveness of the administrative system in the reformation, rehabilitation and re-integration of prisoners into the larger society in  medium security prison, Oko.
To carefully find out the problems, if any associated with the prisons service administrative system.
To prove best possible solution to these problems, which will enhance greater efficiency in prisons service administration in terms of crime control.
        It was observed that through the use of questionnaires and interview, it was discovered that the inefficiency and ineffectiveness  in prison administrative was due to certain factors like lack of regular training of staff, provision of necessary tools and  machines in the various in the prison, employing best practices in doing things and the punitive nature of imprisonment.
        The items contained in the questionnaires were designed to effectively test the hypotheses stated in chapter one which also include the introduction, statement of problem e.t.c. Chapter two dealt on literature reviewed and theoretical framework.
        While chapter three dealt on the mythology that was employed in the investigation.  And chapter five dealt on summary of findings and conclusion and Bibliography.
        On the whole, the four stated hypothesis were confirmed to be true by the data obtained. Thus, it is the conclusion of the researcher that a proper prison administration would bring about efficiency and effectiveness that could adequately transform prisons reformation, rehabilitation and re-integration into a reality.
