TOPIC: PRAYERS
FOR BELIEVERS’ ONENESS
LESSON THREE
MAIN IDEA: Jesus Christ, before departing this world to
the Father, prayed for the oneness of believers in John Chapter 17.
STUDY TEXTS: “John 17:11-21; 1 Corinthians 12:12-26”
LESSON OBJECTIVE: To teach that unity of the
believers, just like that of the Godhead, is basically needed in the church
today.
INTRODUCTION:
Unity is indispensable in the church
of God. The Bible says two are better than one; when one falls, the other will
lift him up. When fighting against the Amalekites, it was discovered that when
Moses hands were weak and could nolonger be stretched, the Amalekites,
prevailed but when Moses hands were held in position, Joshua prevailed against
the Amalekites, So Aaron and Hur held Moses’ hands in a position to ensure
Joshua’s victory, a picture of what co-operation and intercessory prayers can
do.
So, we need to be united to get
victory in life’s babbles and initiate positive changes for the good of God’s
Kingdom.
