CONSTRAINT
Our major constraint is the non
availability of operational internet connectivity in the centre. Inorder to
effectively and efficiently operate on all IPPIS issues as they emanate from
various staff within the Centre, there is a need to set up a good operational
INTERNET connectivity in the centre, to enhance the servicing capacities and to
facilitate easy access to IPPIS on-line Application software that was
configured on our Laptops.
RECOMMENDATIONS
§ Network MODEMS and
subscription should be provided to IPPIS Role Players in the centre as a
temporary measure before the major internet connectivity is done.
§ An operational INTERNET
connectivity should be provided, either by wire or by wireless. The INTERNET
connectivity should be able to link Admin, Accounts, and Audit departments
inorder for the IPPIS Role Players in these departments to effectively carry
out their different IPPIS responsibilities. Perhaps the management could
ultilize the on-going computerization project for this INTERNET connectivity,
or restore the existing Wireless network in the centre.
Note: during the training, emphasis was laid on
using a non-moveable internet facility for the IPPIS Application software, they
expect all MDAs that is on IPPIS to use a permanent internet connectivity that
is only assessable within the centre.
Due to the fact that we do not have operational
internet connectivity on ground for the immediate take off in our
responsibilities, we have to beg them to pardon us and configure our laptops to
allow the use of modems as a temporary measure.
The management is required to write
to the Office of the Accountant-General of the federation to come and
Re-install the IPPIS online Application software as soon as a better internet
connectivity is available in the centre. And this will be done on official
Desktop computers as they also prefer the use of Desktop computers by IPPIS
Role Players rather than their personal laptops for security purpose.
CONCLUSION
The
IPPIS role Players are grateful to the management for the privilege given them
to participate in the IPPIS Pre-Access/Responsibility Training, once again we
sincerely appreciate the cooperation, financial input, commitment and full
support of the management in ensuring the regular payment of salaries to its
staff, and we promise to carry out our IPPIS responsibilities in the most
effective and efficient manner.
