SCOPE OF BIBLICAL UNITY

TOPIC:     SCOPE OF BIBLICAL UNITY

                                                     LESSON TWO

MAIN IDEA:  Christians are not in the dark concerning areas of Biblical unity. Those who promoted ethnic considerations, political, racial divides are not operating under the will of God.

STUDY TEXTS: “Psalm 133:1-3, Romans 15:1-6”

LESSON OBJECTIVE:       To reiterate that in the Christian faith there is neither Jew nor Greek, bond nor free, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

INTRODUCTION:
The Bible is explicit concerning area of scriptural unity. The death of Christ on the cross has broken down all the walls of separation so that the believers can be one.
If there be any individual who still maintains social, racial or tribal.\ segregation in the church, be it known that such one is far from the will of God. Such ones, by their actions, have rejected the intent of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

SUBJECT MATTERS:
1.                 God expects believers to be one in worship, prayer, caring, fellowship and even evangelism. Romans 12:9-13
2.                 The church that is united is always a threat to the kingdom of darkness.  Acts 19:23-28
3.                 The believers are often engaged in battles with the kingdom of darkness which is organized in a hierarchical order so the Scriptures say. Ephesians 6:10-13
4.                 Note that the kingdom of darkness operates through human agents. Acts 13:6-11
5.                 Inspired by Satan, some sons of Belial bound themselves together with an oath not to taste anything until they have killed Paul. Acts 23:12-114
6.                 We need to have the mind of Christ in doing His Will. Philippians 2:5-8

PRACTICAL LESSON:
All that have been discussed under subject analysis can be used as practical lesson.

MEMORY VERSE:     “1 Corinthians 1:10”
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment..

CLASS DISCUSSION:
1.                             Do we actually have the mind of Christ in our individual life or church?
2.                             Are we truly united even in our small group?
